Forward Together is a process to develop a forward-looking strategy for current and future community facilities. The City of Shaker Heights, Shaker Heights City Schools, and Shaker Heights Public Library have embarked on a journey to create a vision for community facilities in which we act as good stewards of limited resources, leveraging our partnerships, and continuing our legacy of working together to think creatively about the future of our civic assets.
How the Forward Together Visioning helps the library renovation now
The Forward Together collaboration’s goal is to develop a coordinated master plan for our community facilities. At two Community Vision Workshops we asked our taxpayers for their visions for their community facilities. Their answers will help to inform us as we move forward with Library renovations.
The Forward Together process began with a Kickoff Event and two Community Visioning Sessions. These sessions generated hundreds of ideas and unique pieces of information from the community, which have been cataloged and synthesized in developing the big ideas.
