How can I get free eLibrary materials?

Use your Shaker Library card to connect to the many resources available from your library. Click on the links below to get started.

If you don’t have a library card yet, you may be eligible for an eCard. Register online for your eCard

  • eAudiobooks

    Libby  from Overdrive provides thousands of titles.  Get the app for your phone or tablet!

    Hoopla also allows for streaming or downloading your favorite eAudiobooks.

  • eBooks

    Download a wide range of popular fiction and nonfiction titles. eBooks can be downloaded onto a variety of portable devices including Kindle, iPhone/iPad and Android.

    Libby  offers thousands of fiction and nonfiction titles. Get the app for your phone or tablet!

    Hoopla offers an enormous selection of digital video (movies and TV shows), music, audiobooks, ebooks and comics to check out immediately. With no wait list, check out up to 20 items per month with a Library Card.

    Libby from Overdrive and CLEVNET has Digital Magazines available to borrow. There is no limit on checkouts. There will never be a waiting list for these titles. Use your Libby applications to download your favorite!

  • eMovies & TV

    Kanopy showcases more than 30,000 of the world’s best films. Library card holders can access Kanopy and sign up to start streaming films on instantly by visiting https://shakerlibrary.kanopy.com/. Films can be streamed from any computer, television, mobile device or platform by downloading the Kanopy app for iOS, Android,AppleTV or Chromecast.

    Hoopla will stream or download eMovies and television shows including blockbusters, niche, and the hard-to-find.

  • Research Tools and Databases

    With your Shaker Library and CLEVNET library card or eCard, you can access high quality databases of full text periodicals from within the library and from home. Cardholders also have access to databases provided by OPLIN (Ohio Public Library Information Network). Additionally, Shaker Heights Public Library purchases some databases that only Shaker cardholders are able to access from home.
