Look up your Shaker Heights home’s historic information, including the date it was built, your architect, and more, in the Shaker Buildings Database.
The Shaker Buildings Database record will show whether there are building plans on microfilm for that home. Visit Shaker Heights Blueprints to learn more.
Historic Shaker
Historic Shaker, a collaborative grant-funded project of the Shaker Heights Public Library and the Shaker Heights Landmark Commission, allows citizens and historians to learn more about their homes, neighborhoods, and heritage through the Shaker Building Database and enhanced Shaker Heights content in the mobile history app Cleveland Historical. Historic Shaker was completed in honor of the Shaker Heights Centennial, which in 2012 celebrated 100 years of history with public programming and projects.
Historic Shaker was supported by an award from the Ohio Historic Records Advisory Board (OHRAB), through funding from the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC), National Archives and Records Administration; and by a grant from the U.S. Department of the Interior’s Historic Preservation Fund, administered by the Ohio Historic Preservation Office (OHPO) of the Ohio Historical Society. In 2013, Historic Shaker was the recipient of two statewide preservation awards: the OHPO Public Education and Awareness Award and the OHRAB Archives Achievement Award.
