Shaker Library is seeking a full-time IT Technician to maintain and provide technical support for the Library’s computer systems, network and software. This is an IT department of one, reporting to the Director, with high level hardware and software support as needed from the Clevnet consortium of library systems.
Installing, configuring, troubleshooting and maintaining computer hardware, software, and local area networks
Monitoring network performance and availability and taking action to resolve problems and correct malfunctions
Providing help desk services to staff
Responding to and resolving technology problems reported by staff
Evaluating technology to determine potential upgrades and new product installation
Maintaining backups of critical Library systems
Knowledge of desktop operating systems, local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs), Windows Server Family Operating Systems
Ability to install and configure desktop operating systems, applications and hardware drivers as well as demonstrated troubleshooting skills and problem solving techniques in a computer technology environment.
Knowledge of remote deployment and management tools such as Microsoft SCCM, Symantec Altiris, scripting, etc.
Excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills, and an ability to prioritize tasks
Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Experience with online forms and website development a plus
$35,000-$45,000 depending upon experience and qualifications.
