Shaker Heights Public Library only keeps records of the materials you have borrowed while they are checked out on your card and/or you owe fines or fees. Once you return borrowed materials, and/or pay fines or fees relating to lost or overdue items, all record of what you have borrowed is removed.
It is the policy of the Shaker Heights Public Library that no information about patron registration, circulation information and patron information requests be made available to any city, state or federal agency or to any individual not on the library staff, except as required by process, order or subpoena authorized by city, state or federal law relating to civil, criminal, or administrative discovery procedures or legislative investigatory power.
The purpose of this policy is to protect the confidentiality of user registration and circulation information, and user information requests from public scrutiny without due process of law.
